After Newsight met all the targets of the first-year grant, the second-year grant will be used to develop its NSI5000 sensor chip, based on Newsight’s eTOF™ technology, for Automotive, Mobile, and Surveillance camera applications.
The new V-LiDAR, which will reach the market in the first half of 2018, is specifically designed to meet the strict demands of automotive makers, including range, real solid-state, accuracy, power, and price.
Infore’s investment will support the company’s global development and continued innovation in Robotics and Automotive CMOS Image sensors for Laser LiDAR.
The company is hiring local engineers for its new offices at the China Guigu Science and Technology Park in Jiashan County, Zhejiang Province.
The grant, together with funding from Chinese angel investors, completes the company’s Pre-Series‑A funding round. Newsight Imaging will use the funds to support the development of its ground-breaking LiDAR sensor chip.
